Sesame cream sauce, also known as tarator sauce, is a popular accompaniment in Lebanese cuisine, often served with beef shawarma , fish, grilled vegetables or falafel. Here is the recipe cup of tahini (sesame paste)
. 1 tasse de tahini (crème de sésame)
2 garlic cloves, crushed
Juice of 2 lemons
1/2 cup cold water (more if needed to adjust consistency)
Salt, to taste
A few sprigs of fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
Instructions:
In a medium bowl, combine tahini with lemon juice and crushed garlic. Add salt.
While stirring, gradually add cold water until the sauce reaches your desired consistency; it should be creamy but not too thick.
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Stir in chopped parsley for added flavor and color (optional).
Serve chilled with your favorite dishes.
