Garlic sauce ( Toum )

Ingrédients:


1 head of garlic, peeled

1 teaspoon of salt

1 cup vegetable oil (or a combination of olive oil and vegetable oil)

Juice of 1 lemoncrush the garlic and salt together until you get a smooth paste. You can also use a blender or a food processor for this.

  1. Gradually add the oil in a thin stream while continuing to mix.

  2. When the mixture starts to thicken, add the lemon juice.

  3. Continue to add the oil in a thin stream and mix until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth.

  4. Taste and adjust salt and lemon juice according to your preference.

  5. Transfer the sauce to a jar and refrigerate. The sauce can be kept for up to a month in the refrigerator.
